I’m so blessed to have 2 dogs that are my world. I’d do anything for these guys, yet, as much as I love them, from time to time they tend to stink.
(Black and white is Clover and red and white is Rowan)
The last thing I want to miss out on is their sweet cuddles, so to keep them stink free, I regularly bathe them in my home tub or, during the summer months, in their outdoor kiddie pool.
For a long time, I purchased dog shampoo at the pet store. But, because we bathe our dogs every month or so, the shampoo would run out fast. And at $15 a bottle, buying soap every time we ran out became a bit spendy. Not to mention, I was discovering more and more chemical-based ingredients that I didn’t care for on the label.
It was then I decided to try my hand at making my own soap. And I discovered a recipe that simple to make, affordable, and smelled delicious.
Check our Rowan and Clover’s Homemade Creamsicle Shampoo Recipe and give it a try!
- 1.5 cups of water
- 2 Tbs. Castille soap
- 4 drops orange essential oil
- 2 drops vanilla essential oil
- Mix all ingredients together.
- Pour into a spray bottle or soap bottle.
- Scrub your pup.
- Enjoy the delicious smell of your squeaky clean creamsicle scented pup.
Note: If you’re not a fan of the creamsicle scent, you can substitute and essential oil your prefer, such as lavender.
Love this recipe? I encourage you to share it with your pup-loving friends and family members!
