Welcome reader

By

The past month has been a whirlwind for many—a chaotic collision of political events that seem to painfully etch their way into every corner of our lives. Somewhere in the middle of spiraling over it all, I found myself on an 8-hour car ride to snowy Colorado with two of my best friends. To distract ourselves from the world’s noise, I started reading snippets of my unfiltered thoughts about the state of the world we live in.

After I was finished, my friend suggested I start a blog. Maybe she wanted to give me a confidence boost. Or maybe she wanted to set me up for public humiliation. Either way, here I am, turning this fleeting idea into something tangible.

I’ve always had a lot to say about a lot of things, but those thoughts usually end up buried in my notes app never to be read again. Now I have this blog. Somewhere between Jane Villanueva and Carrie Bradshaw, I will write to make sense of the world and my place in it. Who needs therapy when you can overshare online, right?

Right now, I’m writing for myself, and maybe for the two friends who promised to read this. But, if you’re in your 20’s, feeling a little lost about your own future, your country’s future, or even the planet’s future—welcome to my quarter-life chronicles.

As I go, pieces of my identity will undoubtedly shine through these posts. But for now, I’m writing without an agenda, without backstory, without pretense. This is me exercising my freedom of expression while I can.

So here’s to starting something messy, honest, and maybe even meaningful. If you’re reading this, I hope it resonates—or at the very least, makes you feel a little less alone.
